Chapter 9: The Academic Year of 99-00
Yes.. The boys went back to school. Dave and Brian to the University of New Haven, Ralph back to WPI, and Jay attending Hallmark Institute of Photography. They were able to play several shows during the fall/winter term, but come March, Ralph took off for London!

Date: October 1st, 1999 - Location: WPI Quad

This time we had a headlining gig, but we unfortunatley weren't fully prepared for this one. Playing outside at night in the autumn is challenging for guitarists, and drum sets. Drummers are fine with this, but drum sets tend to just fall apart on cool evenings when outdoors.

Date: Thursday, December 23rd, 1999 - Location: Toad's Place

Our second gig there. Very cool crowd. We managed to bring in almost 150 people! If you were there, then you had fun. We're sure of it. Porn Star" debuted there first in the set. Ralph finally budged and did a drum solo.  He's still not sure what he did, but it was fast.

Date: Sunday, March 5th, 2000 - Location: Toad's Place

Gracefully accepting an opening act position for the newest teen craze, Lit, they boys trucked down to Toad's Place yet again. This show definatley rocked. They played the best of the best, and featured some new material like, Britney, and Inside Your Head. The lights were shining down on them, the monitor mix was perfect, Brian wore an odd little red hat, and Dave threw out a whole bunch of Swedish fish to the positively charged audience.

Date: Saturday, March 11th, 2000 - Location: The Equator Coffee Bar, Manchester

Not even a week later, SiMent repeated the stellar performace in front of a lot less people. No.. wait.. let's call this a "more intimate setting". Due to a scheduling mishap, they put the party band on before us. We played with Saffron, Revelaria, and Dayzamazeme.

Then, only days later, Ralph left for London to study pollution or something. We never really understood it.

Luckily, he came back. Just in time for the semester to be over.
