6.30.99Well, it's been quite an eventuful last ten days. Kevo's Summer Bash was, well, not much of a bash, but it produced some good stories. Dave's car broke down, and we all swam in kevin's pool, and Weaver and Ralph played their first game of one-on-one basketball in which Ralph lost 12-10 (gotta win by two!). But he got cool blisters on his feet from playing barefoot. Ralph should have gotten a 3 point handicap for that. Anyways, we played the Woodcock's backyard BBQ, and that went well, too. But it all culminated in Monday night's show at Lazlo's with The Limit. We rocked. Most bands rely on fan's quotes to say how they did, the old "Click here to see what people have said about us!" Nope, not us. We're just going to say that we kicked ass. Thanks to everyone who came out to the show, there was a pretty damn good attendance and we were really happy about everything. We're still glowing from that night. And a special thanks to Leah, who traveled from Simsbury to see us, and only got to see like 3 songs! So a shout-out to everyone. Next-up: Husky Blues (well, for 15 minutes anyways) and the Tune Inn for now. Check the tour page!

HEY! Well, we haven't check in in a while, so here's the dilly...
We've been writing and practicing and nailing down tons of new material, and getting ready for plenty of shows. We played our first gig of the summer this past Friday, at the Beachfest (headlined by Gargantua Soul) at PennField Beach on Fairfield Beach. We played really well, but again.. attendance was sort of low. That's alright though, it was a beautiful day and lots of cool bands were around. Next up -- This Saturday at Kevo's (if you know about this, or don't and want to know.. email us. Private party, but well, we can invite anyone! so ask us. And we'll give directions. Free food, free swimming, free us and most likely the Fryolators will be playing too!).. and another undisclosed location (hah). Then, monday the 28th, we're trekking up to Lazlo's Arts Cafe in Monroe to play a double-bill with The Limit. This should be a REALLY cool show, we're starting at about 8. If you need directions, email us.. and it's FREE! Oh yeah, their coffee is really, really good, too. Check ya lata...5.24.99
SiMent is home! Everyone has returned from college. Well, mainly just Ralph becasue he's the only one who's really away from here to begin with. Practicing has commenced, and all is well. We're getting geared up for the Fairfield Beach show in June.. check the tour page! Writing new tunes, changing others.. all the more reason to come out and see us. As for our past shows: Indiefest at WPI went great, except that the sunny, beautiful day caused us to become really happy and excited that we were playing in front of people and stuff. So we played the first half of our set at mach 4 speed. Thanks to all you came out to see us then, and thanks to Kathy for those damn spiffy t-shirts with our name on them! Larkin's sports bar was intersting. We played a really tight set. In front of about 6 people (yeah Josh!). It was 21+ though, so kinda out of our realm right now. But now summer's almost here... and the WNHU CD with our tracks on it is almost out!

More tour dates added! We're playing this Friday in Fairfield, Indiefest in May at WPI, and another June date at Fairfield Beach. We played the Battle of the Bands at Assumption, with five other bands. Some bands we didn't like. Some bands we did. Even though the crowd roared and roared for us, chanting an ominous "SiMent! SiMent!"... we didn't place. But we're not down. On the lighter side, Ralph's fraternity voted SiMent as a candidate for the "They got poked in the asshole so hard that their asshole is THIIIIIISSSSSSS BIG!" award. We're proud of that.

It's confirmed! SiMent will be playing in the Assumption College Battle of the Bands with a four other bands who's names I'm not so sure of. Check the tour page for complete deails..

Spring Break! We're in the process of working out some new tunes and practicing right now. We've entered ourselves into Assumption college's battle of the bands, as well as WPI's little talent forum, IndieFest. Let's hope all goes well there. Also, rumor has it a possible show at Toad's Place in April.. and big tour plans for the summer. Ralph got ahold of more pics.. soon to show up on the picture page. Ralph got a Hi-Hat! And a seemingly indestructable snare head. Dave's gonna stand on it and find out. Tune in next time for the result...

Happy New Year! Being as it's college break and all, we've practiced a bit and come up with some funky new-wave (hah!) little ditties to work on. Dave's in the Carribean. Nice.

We got some new pictures! Take a look at us in UNH's studios doing our best impression of a band in the recording process. Anyhoot... SiMent has been signed? Well, sorta! We are scheduled to appear on Prelude Records' (UNH's new record label) first compilation! You be the judge. Weird. We went into UNH's 24-track studio earlier this week to record "Ali Toro", and a new, yet unnamed song (which has come to be known to us as "Andrea"). We have no idea when this will be pressed, released or otherwise, so keep your web browsers peeled.
